Is Cardamoo free?
Yes. Cardamoo is free to play in the browser and free to download on iOS and Android. The only purchase in the game is an optional cosmetic supporter pack, a profile badge and a visual theme that never affect gameplay or chips.
Can I buy chips?
No, and that's by design, not a missing feature. Chips are never for sale, in any amount, at any price. Everyone at the table earned their stack by playing.
Are chips worth real money? Can I cash out?
No. Chips are virtual, have no real-world value, can't be transferred to other players, and can't be exchanged for money or anything else. They exist for the game, and for bragging rights.
Is Cardamoo gambling?
No. Nothing of real-world value is ever staked, won, or lost. You can't pay money for chips and you can't turn chips back into money, the poker is real, but the stakes never are.
Do I need an account to play?
No, you can try Cardamoo as a guest straight from your browser. A free account unlocks the full game with a bankroll of one million chips, and your guest lesson progress, XP, and stats carry over when you sign up.
What can I play on?
Any modern browser on phone or desktop, plus free native apps on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play). Everyone plays at the same tables.
Is Cardamoo an app or a website?
Both. Cardamoo is a native app on iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play), and the same game runs in any modern browser at play.cardamoo.com. One account, the same tables, on all three.
How is Cardamoo different from Poker Now?
Poker Now runs in the browser with video chat built in and seats up to 10. Cardamoo is built around Poker Night (the table on a TV, phones as controllers), runs as a native app and in the browser, includes nine guided lessons and a coach, and keeps one bankroll between sessions. It seats six per table and has no video chat. Full comparison.
How do I play with friends?
Host a private table and share the invite link or room code, your friends tap it and sit down, in the browser or the app. Home games let the host set the blinds and buy-in.
What is Poker Night?
Cardamoo's same-room mode. The host starts a table on their phone and taps Poker Night, then opens cardamoo.com/tv on any spare screen (a TV, tablet or laptop) and types in the code it shows. The link or QR code works too. That screen becomes the card table for the whole room with no login or install, and everyone's phone holds their private hand and the buttons to play it. At the end the host can close the night with a recap, or make it a regular table with a weekly night and standings. How Poker Night works.
Can I play against computer opponents?
Yes. AI Arena is a dedicated practice mode against computer opponents with real personalities and play styles, and the nine guided lessons teach you Texas Hold'em from zero at a real table. Quick Play seats fill with skilled stand-ins until real players take them over.
Am I always playing against real people?
Not always. Tables may include computer players to keep games lively, they play by the same rules as everyone else, and chips won or lost against them are ordinary virtual chips with no real-world value.
How often is Cardamoo updated?
Constantly, it's a one-person studio that ships every week or two. The full changelog is public on the news page and inside the app under Release Notes.
What happens if I run out of chips?
You earn your way back by playing: daily activity, the lucky wheel, challenges, and the weekly leaderboard all award bonus chips. Going bust is never a paywall.
What do I get for ranking up?
Every rank on the Rank Road has a reward waiting: an avatar, a seat frame, a card back or a win effect. It arrives sealed, so you can open it at the table or save it for later, and each new rank pays bonus chips too. The first ranks come quickly, so your first rewards show up in your first sessions.
Why can't I join a higher table yet?
On a new account the higher tables open as you rank up: Gold at Grinder, Obsidian at Strategist and Zenith at High Roller. Accounts from before the Rank Road arrived keep every table. And a friend can always bring you to their table, whatever your rank.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. Cardamoo is for an adult audience, 17 and up.
